ESSENTIAL # 8: CLUB
Once you have established trust with YoungLives Dads, it's time to start planning the club. The goal is to
offer all the elements of a typical Young Life club tailored to YoungLives Dads, including the addition of
childcare and a meal. All aspects of the club should synergize to support the sharing of the gospel.
Your team is your most valuable resource in creating a successful club for YoungLives Dads. Organize and
plan club activities during your monthly mentor meetings and assign responsibilities. It's beneficial to plan
club sessions a semester or year in advance to ensure a structured and impactful program.
Non-Negotiables:
Gospel-Centered Content: Every club meeting must focus on sharing the gospel and integrating
biblical principles.
Childcare and Meal: Always provide reliable childcare and a nutritious meal to support the dads and
their children.
Consistent Schedule: Maintain a regular, predictable schedule for club meetings to build trust and
commitment.
Mentor Involvement: Ensure active participation and support from mentors at every club meeting.
Safe Environment: Create a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment for all attendees.
YOUNGLIVES CLUB ELEMENTS
The purpose of the YoungLives Dads club is to make YoungLives Dads feel welcome and celebrated.
This means that all elements of the club (games, music, food, skits, etc.) should be adapted to the
cultural perspectives of the YoungLives Dads.
Typically, the YoungLives Dads Club begins with engaging activities such as games, skits, and mixers,
accompanied by music to create a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. All these activities should build up
to the Club Talk, which is the opportunity to present the gospel message in a manner relevant to
YoungLives Dads.
