Fundraising Events
The YoungLives committee for YoungLives Dads can organize and hold fundraising events to
supplement the budget that isn't covered by donor contributions. These events should be tailored to
your community and may align with broader annual fundraising initiatives. Specific events for
supporting young fathers might include workshops on parenting skills, BBQ cook-offs, father-child
sports days, daddy daughter dances, community service projects, or game nights. These occasions are
great opportunities to engage the community and raise essential funds for the ministry
Foundations and Grants
Raising funds through grants and gifts from foundations, agencies, and corporations is another way to
raise additional funds for YoungLives. Funding through grants may be available specifically for
YoungLives, even if Young Life may not meet their qualifications. Grant support through foundation
and outside entities requires long term planning and should be seen as a supplement to your
Relationship Centered Engagement budget plan. Grant writing is a great opportunity to invite the
support of a qualified committee member or friend of Young Life who is trained in it. The Young Life
Service Center also has a Foundations and Corporate Relations Team that helps staff cultivate these
opportunities to increase funding that will allow you to reach more adolescents.
