Identifying the appropriate person to lead the ministry for YoungLives Dads in your area is crucial
for fostering a robust and impactful ministry.
CHARACTERISTICS OF A COORDINATOR OR TEAM LEAD FOR
YOUNGLIVES DADS
A Coordinator or Team Lead for YoungLives Dads…
Is passionate about Christ and committed to sharing Christ with YoungLives Dads. Their devotion
to Christ should be the core motivation for their service.
Supports Young Life’s ministry methods. A coordinator is not only enthusiastic about reaching
YoungLives Dads but is dedicated to doing so through the methodologies of Young Life.
Recruits, develops, and mobilizes adult volunteers that mirror the community being served. The
coordinator should be capable of mentoring and cultivating these volunteers into effective leaders,
beyond merely enjoying youth interaction and direct ministry.
Leads direct ministry efforts. They are adept at running an engaging program and building
relational connections with YoungLives Dads.
Is entrepreneurial and a self-starter. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, innovative, and
persistent.
Values collaboration. Effective ministries for YoungLives Dads work in partnership with
committees, area staff, schools, social workers, community organizations, and churches.
Possesses strong emotional maturity. This role demands the ability to understand, manage, and
communicate one’s emotions effectively. The coordinator must demonstrate wisdom, sound
judgment, and empathy in their interactions.
Is committed to developing personal cultural intelligence. This attribute is essential for effectively
engaging in culturally diverse situations and entails a commitment to continual personal growth in
cultural understanding and sensitivity.
Is an effective team leader. The coordinator should be a visionary who collaborates with and
delegates responsibilities to support teams, such as childcare, mentors, transportation, meals, etc.
Leadership also involves developing adult and community support, fundraising, recruiting and
training mentors, and engaging YoungLives Dads.
